I bought this one an impulse only because of the discount they had. Never had a mokuti piece, but I absolutely love it! The quality is impeccable on this thing, the action is smooth. My only gripe, is that the anchor for the blade mount can get caught on the pocket clip if you are applying pressure on the clip while opening the blade. It’s very natural to do that so you have to intentionally keep your fingers away from the clip when deploying the blade. Other than that, I’m really liking this little tool. I made a little lanyard with some thin paracord. It just happened to be purple and goes so well with the colors in the mokuti. Great job y’all!
Love my Pathfinder V2 Alpha! The attention to detail, quality if material and machining are all above expectation!
The tool is a lot smaller than I was expecting, so I do wish I went with the Beta version as the pocket clip design won't work for me as imagined.
Overall, very pleased with this sleek, handy little blade for opening packages, boxes, envelopes, and cutting loose threads.
However, the pry tool / bottle opener on the end has poked my hand painfully once or twice when I dipped my hand into my pocket to retrieve my keys. Ultimately, I'd prefer if it wasn't there for three reasons:
1) It would make it much more compact when the blade is retracted.
2) When the blade is extended, it would allow the blade to pierce and cut more deeply (which admittedly, isn't a huge need I experience very often)
3) It wouldn't poke you in the hand when you blindly shove your hand into your pocket to grab it.
I also have no idea why bottle openers are a ubiquitous addition to multi-tools. I need one maybe once a year. Maybe bottler openers are just a super easy thing to add to a multi-tool. Or maybe other people are opening bottles every day. I don't know, but it has essentially no value to me. The ability to pry things does occasionally, though. So maybe a little pry bar might be handy.
Love this little thing. Got the light blue Tritium and it glows more than I expected.
Definitely one of the fanciest package openers I'll probably ever own. I love the timascus pattern, also all other functions. Ruler, file, bottle opener, pribar. Pathfinder V2 is super awesome would definitely recommend.
